Simulates realistic collisions
Placsim is organised by construction sequences that correspond to the position of the crane during the progress of the construction work.
It is not a 3D design software, it is a collision simulator.
It is not a 3D design software, it is a placement simulator.
It works in local coordinates and is able to simulate the placement of 30-40 elements per minute if the display is accelerated.
Simulates the placement of the elements of the last layer of structures.
PLACSIM requires as inputs the 3D model of the construction site and the mesh for the placement of the elements.
Simulation Options
The simulation differentiates between:
Scenario 1.
Active Elements
They simulate the real placement of heavy elements in maritime works by means of cranes, descending at constant speed and releasing under the action of gravity when there is contact with the layer below.
Scenario 2.
Elements bottom layer
There are two modes: those whose collisions are deactivated and those whose collisions are activated. If they are deactivated, they cannot interact with the active elements. However, if the 6 Degrees of Freedom of each individual passive element is known, PLACSIM allows them to interact with the active elements as well.
How do they work?
Collision Detection
When collision is detected between a falling element and those at rest, collisions are detected within the defined sphere with centre at the active element and radius 2*Dn (Dn= Nominal diameter or equivalent cube side).
The elements descend at constant velocity and when the collision approaches, an initial velocity is imposed and gravity is activated to perform the collision calculation.
